With the summer fun, also comes the summer movie line up. On June 9th, we got together at the local cinema for “Prometheus” 3D (an Imax experience) and then a staff meeting afterwards at the local Rudy’s Tacos. James Olson, our SB 03 Commander, also joined us for the get-together. We managed a picture or two before the movie, thanks to Cmdr. Olson. We all enjoyed the movie and all had a different opinion of what was good and what wasn’t.

This past quarter the Mighty USS GORGON has been extremely active, walking in the Indianapolis Best Buddies Friendship Walk for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD); cleaned up our adopted stretch of highway on Hwy 67 (with an unexpected twist!), and handed out water and fruit, along with our sister ship the USS INDIANAPOLIS, during the Indianapolis Walk for Babies. Combine that with a bout of Lazer Tag (only minor injuries) and an away mission to see The Avengers (“Hulk...smash.”), bowling with several other ships, and an evening with Il Toubadore, one might think we’re ready for a summer vacation...but we’re just heating up!
