Happenings in the Fleet:
I, ADM Gary Barclay, am in the back portraying Commander Riker for the special showing of 2 blu-ray shows on the movie screen on Monday July 23rd at the Hamilton 16 IMAX. Also, the Uss Gorkon and Il Troubadore are in this group picture. The USS Gorkon was contacted by the theater and they had a Klingon command chair and two tables and a display case filled with interesting Star Trek items. Pictured below are DFC Mark Williams and Lillian Sams.
Lt. Rose Compton
Ending the month of June we took a trip to Riverside Iowa, for Trekfest 28. We met with several members of SFCQ1 and enjoyed each other’s company on what would have otherwise been an unbearably hot and stormy weekend. I’m choosing to tell of the adventure in pictures.
We arrived on Friday, early evening and made our way to Murphy’s Bar and Grill for good food and some better conversation. Everyone was so busy chatting and getting acquainted, no one was paying attention to the weather screen in the background. (We should have!)

The Parade ……
Parade participants began arriving at 8 AM. By 8:30, we were registered and moving to the line-up area. This year’s theme was “Omega Glory”. We chose to go with the Constitution, the Pledge of Allegiance” and flags. Fleet Commander Adm. Roy Jackson was chauffeured thru the parade by Ensign Les Pullman. The vehicle served a second purpose; ensuring that anyone who could not manage the parade route had an out and carrying water for all SFC members. By 9:30 AM, the temps were already approaching the upper 80’s and the humidity sat uncomfortably high.
Seeking some shade while we waited…. Pictured:
James P Coree, Rose Compton, Ed Ciccarone, Les Pullman III, Dana Taylor, Dennis Lynch, Mark Williams, Bill Van Brunt, Roy Jackson, Amber Jones, Derek Sauls and a few new acquaintances.
The Costume Contest had 2 SFC members as Judges and 2 SFC members as participants. Mark Williams won second place.
