Some General news
From the CIT Dept / Deputy Fleet Commander

Hello everyone,

Can you believe that 2011 is half over? Where has this year gone?

For those that might have missed the announcement through the yahoo groups or the Facebook page, we now have a store online at Cafepress as well as the SFCQ1 online store You can easily find something for yourself, a fellow crew member or even your favorite Admiralty Board Member!! I picked up a clock and a black T Shirt. I had never ordered from Cafepress before and was very surprised at the quality of both items.

The Starbase Pages on the website are currently up to date thanks in a large part to the assistance from ADM
V Williams Current List of Ships With the new updated listing, we see some of the older ships sadly disappear, but we also see some new faces. To those new units, I say welcome to the Fleet.

Thanks,
ADM Mark Williams
Deputy Fleet Command

Ronald McDonald House Indianapolis

From the CO of the U.S.S. Gorkon,

As many know, Star Base 06 as well as many other Star Bases within Starfleet Command Quadrant One have supported the Pop Tab collection on behalf of the Ronald McDonald House.  As part of that effort, and to promote Starfleet and the many ships within the organization we would like everyone to save as many pop tabs as possible for a Starfleet group turn-in during “SHOW US YOUR TABS”.  This is the 7th Annual Pop Tab Drop on Monument Circle and will be held on Friday, August 5 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.  There will be fun for all ages including photo opportunities with the world’s largest pop tab, games, music by Pop and the Twisters Band and an appearance by Ronald McDonald.

This will be a great opportunity to let the community know about our organization and a great time for recruiting.  A large group of Star Trek fans in uniform turning in a large amount of pop tabs during this event will bring some very positive attention to our club. We are also going to contact the Ronald McDonald coordinator for this event and inquire regarding having a table for information regarding our organization.  Look for further information regarding this project on the
List-Serv.

We would like as many members as possible to come out for this event in uniforms.  With that being said, we know work schedules, prior commitments and travel distance will be obstacles for some to attend this event.  We still need and would appreciate your contributions of pop tabs for the group turn-in.  These can be mailed to the following point of contact:  Clara Trout, PO Box 63, Ingalls, IN 46048.

The Ronald McDonald House of Indiana

   Our Mission
To provide a supportive home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill or injured children receiving medical care at Riley Hospital for Children and other Indianapolis hospitals.

   Primary Goal
The Ronald McDonald House of Indiana embraces all families with sick or injured children being treated in Indianapolis-area hospitals without regard to income. While the cost of operating a single room is $76 per night (based upon 2010 figures), families staying at the House are asked to make a modest donation of $15 per night. No family is ever turned away from the House if they are unable to pay.

   Our Vision
The Ronald McDonald House of Indiana will provide exceptional core services within the House and expand family care and comfort as needed.
