As Fleet Commander of Starfleet Command Quadrant One, I wish to welcome you to our website. If you are a member, we have numerous resources to help you and your ship. If you are not a member, I encourage you to look around, ask questions and consider joining. We are here to serve you.
I have been a Star Trek fan since its first season in the ’60s. I have been to every Star Trek movie on opening night, and I have seen every episode of every incarnation of Star Trek at least twice. While I had heard of conventions and fan clubs, I never actually attended a convention until 1988. Prior to that, I assumed that conventions had nothing of interest for me. I was wrong and have been hooked ever since.
It wasn’t until 2002 (opening night of ST:X) that I actually met a member of Starfleet Command. I immediately joined and became Chief Security Officer of a local ship. Within a year, my friends and I formed the USS Endeavour with me in the captain’s chair. As captain of the Endeavour, I modeled our new ship on other successful ships in fleet, such as the USS Adventure and the USS Halsey. We participated in joint ship activities, which gave me the opportunity to discuss ship business with some of the best leaders in Fleet, including FADMs Don Dailey, Paul Sundstrom, Mark Bischoff, and Andy Sams.
Starfleet Command has taught me an important lesson. Being a fan means enjoying the show, but being in a fan club means joining a family that acts on the philosophy of the show. While Star Trek offers hope for a better future, local fan clubs offer hope for a better now. Through charity work, fundraisers, and attempting to be better people, Star Trek fans have helped and continue to help thousands of people in need each year.
Thank you for this opportunity, because it is truly an honor to serve as your Fleet Commander. I do not take this responsibility lightly. I see a bright future for Starfleet Command that consists of strength, growth, and good times.
I hope you find this site helpful and, please, contact me with comments and suggestions!
